A research group of Tekwon found a marine bioactive compound peptide from shark which was able to down-regulate acute inflammatory response
In the first issue of the Journal of Food Biochemistry (2021), Tekwon’s team reported that a marine bioactive oligopeptide extracted from the spotless smooth-hound shark can downregulate excessive inflammatory responses, providing significant protection against endotoxin-induced acute liver damage and impaired kidney function.
Tekwon's research team won the 6th R&D Team Innovation Contribution Award of Overseas Chinese
As the only selected biomedical team in Fujian Province, Tekwon won the 6th R&D Team Innovation Contribution Award of Overseas Chinese. The award was presented by Chen Zuoning, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, on CCTV. After the meeting, all the award-winning teams took a group photo as a souvenir.
Tekwon’s recent research findings published with Food Science and Nutrition
Using patented technologies, Tekwon obtained two types of compound peptides from sharks that can accelerate bone growth and strengthen bone marrow, indicating strong potential for commercial use as nutraceutical ingredients. The results were published in Food Science and Nutrition in 2020.

Nutrition plays a critical role in the prevention and treatment of chronic wounds. In a recent paper published online, we reported that orally administered compound peptides developed by Tekwon were effective in reversing malnutrition in patients with venous leg ulcers, who also had liver cirrhosis and diabetes, thereby improving the healing rate.

Tekwon peptide products passed CMA and SGS certification tests
Tekwon’s peptide products have passed both CMA and SGS certification tests. The purified peptide powders contain over 95.5% protein, with an average molecular weight ranging from 500 to 800 Da, as determined by MALDI-TOF-MS. Microbial counts, heavy metals, and other quality indicators meet all expected standards.
Tekwon workshop passed the inspection of Food & Drug Inspection Institute
A 1,800-square-meter Tekwon GMP workshop was recently established in the Xiamen Biopharmaceutical Industrial Park and has successfully passed inspection by the Xiamen Food and Drug Inspection Institute.
